Earth House

Tiruvallur, Tamil Nadu

2021

The exterior architectural design of this house embraces a harmonious blend of nature and modern minimalism. The facade features exposed brickwork, adding an earthy charm while maintaining a strong connection to natural elements. Clean lines and a horizontal layout emphasize simplicity and balance, creating a seamless flow between the built environment and surrounding greenery.

The entrance is accentuated by a subtle elevation with concrete steps leading to a solid wooden door, adding a sense of security and warmth. A feature screen with intricate geometric patterns enhances privacy while allowing filtered light to create dynamic patterns on the interior walls.

The side elevation showcases a covered outdoor space with a pergola structure, allowing for shaded relaxation and encouraging natural ventilation. Vertical green screens with climbing plants soften the structural form and provide a biophilic touch. The landscaping integrates natural stone, lush foliage, and manicured greenery, creating a tranquil transition between the exterior and the built space.

The use of sustainable materials, such as exposed brick and concrete, ensures durability while maintaining a low environmental impact. Thoughtfully placed lighting elements enhance the facade’s aesthetics, adding a warm glow during the evening hours. Overall, the design reflects a perfect balance of modernity, warmth, and nature-inspired living.
